MATCH REPORT (BOYS) – R10 vs GWV REBELS
EASTERN RANGES – 18.8.116
GWV REBELS – 0.5.5
Our boys made the trip up to Ballarat to play on Mars Stadium with the clear message from the coaches and the intent for the game to put in a 4 quarter performance and bring home the 4 points.
With a Jordan Jaworski goal in the first 29 seconds of the game, we knew the boys were on from the very start. The first quarter was a one-sided affair with our relentless pressure and ruthlessness at the contest setting the tone for the day and limiting the Rebels' chances to impact the scoreboard.
Much like the first quarter, the second started off with another Jaworski goal in the opening minutes. Eastern kicking 6 goals to nil in the quarter to head into the main break with a 9 goal lead.
The coaches message at half-time was the same as the start of the game – with a number of new challenges set for the group including - taking our performance to the next level, keeping the home side goalless and playing “Eastern Football” for 4 quarters.
The second half was all Eastern and another 9 goals in the second half finished off what was a complete team performance, keeping the opposition goalless and capping off our most convincing win for the year running out 111 point victors.
Some great individual performances across the day but most importantly it was an all-round great team performance which we will look to take into our next game after the bye against the Sandringham Dragons.
The best players on the day included Jordan Jaworski, Wil Parker, Connor Downie, Tyler Edwards, Zakery Pretty, Riley Smith.
Goalkickers on the day were:
J Jaworski 7
The next match is not until the 23rd of June, at Box Hill City Oval against the Sandringham Dragons.
